1994 Wrangler, need help naming a part to order new one.

Hi, I have a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. I just purchased it last year for 5400 with 104,000 miles and I am slowly fixing the massive under body rust and shot parts. Yesterday i changed the shocks on the back and front. I noticed that there is a metal bracket/hoop/stopper (not sure what it is) that is mounted above the axel in the frame near every shock. They all need to be replaced because they are destroyed because the shocks we shot way before I purchased the jeep and it just has been slamming on these metal pieces and broke every one (4, 1 near each shock), i believe they are stoppers to help with bottoming out by hitting on the axle. These pieces were rusted to nothing and i have no clue what the look like or if they have a rubber piece on them or anything. All i know is that they bolt onto the frame and are directly above axle. If anyone could tell me what these metal pieces are called, what they do, or even where i can get new ones it would be very helpful. I will check back a lot so if you need a better description or something let me know. Thank You.

Here is a few pictures, the one with the black shock is the best. I hope this helps. As you can tell its got rust and I'm a college student who is trying to keep up with it until I have a good job where i can do a total restore and replace everything. I going to sandblast it this summer and clean it up a little.

Thanks everyone who posted. Its a shame that the previous owner didn't take care of this jeep as well as he should have. :-(

Yeah, I'd start looking at the frame and doing some rust repair/prevention. Looks like you might have some spots that need attention.

It is a shame your rig has rust issues but, some of us don't replace the stops to use the extra flex room.

^ya, but you said your jeep is bouncing off of them. that probably means your springs and shocks are shot also. time for a lift
