We get it. You have a hemi. It's not exactly unique though...you act like no one's ever put a V8 in a Jeep before.

Drop the insults.

You've come on to a forum to ask a question that demonstrates very little common sense and is in fact moot given that you're looking to sell the vehicle, but nevertheless manage to insult those attempting to help you.

My recommendation for those driving crappy 6 cylinders is to stop answering your questions. Good luck.

Good thought, but my evidence suggests not.

I wouldn't expect 20mpg from a V-8 pushing a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a barn...

Also, why have a v8 wrangler that doesn't see off road and doesn't go above the speed limit...?

It's a jeep. More so than engines, I'm interested in what's under the frame!

You have to change the tranny in order to put a stick shift in a hemi jeep. And actually why would I want to beat the hell out of a $20,000 car? You all say your 6 cyl are worth 10-12k with 150k? somewhere around there on, but they all look the same. I do do the speed limit because I dont have money to pay tickets. All I am saying is do something different? What is the point in everyone having the same thing? it gets boring seeing so many jeeps around that are all the same. I am not saying I am the only one with a hemi but there are not many. And those people who have them were like me and got tired of the same thing everyone else has. I came on here asking how to get better mpg in a hemi. I wouldn't expect people with 6 cylanders or 4 to be able to answer that question. I was wondering if anyone else had the same set up as me and would be able to give me a few pointers. and sure i will upload pics of it i have no problems with that. I'll upload them when I get home.

are you sure you have the proper gearing in the axles for those tires? If the gearing is wrong that could have a huge impact on fuel mileage. I cant help you with what gearing should be in there cause I dont have (or want) a Hemi Wrangler. I like my common I6 cause the availability of people and their knowledge to help me fix it on my own is great.

yes everything is fine. and its always good to do something new or people get board with the same old stuff that is why the first diesel was ever made and the first person to use vegi oil to make their car run and electric cars. There has to be 1 person somewhere that starts it and know how to fix it.

Just because someone drives a 6 cylinder doesn't mean their un-knowledgable about the engine and jeep. Everyone is giving you pointers but you seem to arrogant to care.

If,"everything is fine." Like you say then why bother...

Google "Hemi forum" - problem solved.

If you were going to find your answer here you'd have it by now. You don't need a Jeep focused forum. You are looking for engine related mods, go to a forum that focuses on that engine. I think you've pissed off enough people here with your arrogant, rude and self-righteous attitude.

Good luck finding your solution on a Hemi forum. I highly recommend you don't do anything to offend those people if you want their help.

How to get better gas mileage:

Take off those heavy tires and put some 28" street tires on it.
Get rid of the lift kit and lower it. C-notch, axle flip kit, etc
Install a spoiler and a wide body kit for better aerodynamics

That should help. Oh...how could I forget? Don't forget a cold air intake!

I get 18 with mixed city and highway. On long trips I even top off at 22-24mpg with my 4.0

One person sed to get a cold air intake. Thatz your first step towards UR goal of 20mpg. You've already done the right thing by getting ride of the V6 in your JEep lol. The second step is to keep your JeeP out of the woods lol. EVeryone knows that the gas mileage in the woods or in the mud is the suxxor.

U should try the TOrnadO Fuel saver. Its a storm of savings lol.

Congrats on UR awesome V8 jEEp! If you combine a cold air intake with a Tornado and add a chip and a Folger's can exhaust, you will probably get 20mpg, if not 30-35mpG.

Now, a moment of silence for our brothers and sisters with V6 JeePs ROTFLMAO @V6 JeEps!! YOLO!

thank you so much for your help.... actually only a very few people tried helping me. Not sure how people with 6 and 4cylander jeeps could've answered this question. And why would I want to take the tires and lift off that would be stupid. It does already have a cold air intake on it. what is a tornado fuel saver? never heard of that? and I have had diesels and i put a chip in one but I am kinda scared too because you can start running into big problems with the computer and stuff. does the same go to jeeps with hemis in? do you have a hemi jeep also?

I just read through this again and was smh on the stupidity of some of these posts! Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned this...but did anyone catch her first post?? That she JUST BOUGHT a Hemi Jeep. Now I hope I'm not being too picky here, but if you really want to "be different" than all of us with "crappy" motors, then maybe you should go put some time in like others who have done diesel, sbc, even hemi swaps THEMSELVES. It is less impressive to just go buy something and say "look at me I'm different and y'all suck because you don't have one!"

I'll keep using my crappy little 4 banger like a Jeep ought to be used...have fun mall crawlin'!
