2.5 yj donut gasket?

I am working on some exhaust leaks i have on my 1990 YJ and I realized i had one on my downpipe and tailpipe connection. In taking it off i noticed there was no donut gasket, i torqued the 2 bolts and still have a leak there. Is there a donut gasket for this model? If not is there a way to create a tighter seal around the flare?

Yeah no donut required. The connection needs to be very straight. The exhaust pipe will actually tend to roll to one side when pitting it up there. IMHO the best and easiest way is to get both nuts started watching closely and give each side a few turns then the other to get it up evenly. Patience sucks but helps with that one.

Yeah they are a dealer part only place I could find them. They are pressed in from the top. Remove the exhaust manifold pound them out and then pound in the new ones and reinstall the manifold. That is how I did it took about 8 hours. They are expensive from the dealer but still available. Sucks but no room from the bottom.
