Question 2 Questions about SYE's

First, when was the SYE invented. Second, what was used on SWB Jeeps before SYE's were available to counteract the effects of driveline vibrations?

Don't know when it was invented, but the old method was either using degree shims under the leaf springs or by moving and re-welding the spring perch to line up the pinion and the TC for a better driveline angle. My guess is that the SYE was designed when the engineers started using control arms on their suspensions.

I would guess 1988, when the 1st NV231's started showing up in wranglers. Prior to that you just had to get a longer shaft of some type if you had more lift and degree shims.
