2001 se

what gears do you guys recommend for a 2001 jeep wrwngler se 5spd 2.5 ltr with 35m inch tires the jeep bogs down in 4 and 5 th gear ? waanna keep some decent mpg though not lookin tro go off roadin just some nice cruisin gears that will give some power in 4 and 5th thanks kev

4.88 I think is the lowest you can go. Have you thought about 33's? As 35's and lower gears don't help the dana 35.

i was told some 538 gears were good ones thought about smaller tires but the jeep would look funny i think with the lift. any thoughts?

5.38's would be ideal and great with a 4banger and 35's...BUT, the problem exist with your stock D30/D35 axles...which can only go as far as 4.88....nothing lower made for them. Also, Stock D35/w 35''tires...asking for a broken shaft.

the trans guys says thrs a housing he would put on to to accomidate the 538s and the jeep is gonna be for cruisin not off roadin, sound right

do you think just puttin on 33s would solve the problem with out doing any gear work?
