2009 jeep wrangler unlimited vs 2013 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited...

....interested in trading my 09 wrangler unlimited for 2013 wrangler Sahara unlimited. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of this trade if anyone might have any idea. As far as the features inside of the vehicle it's easy to tell what changed. I'm more interested to know more of what changed under the hood and anything with the body? Any help will be great thank you!

I just traded my 08 jku sahara 84,000 miles for a 13 jku sahara. Same exact options just a different color. The biggest reason was the new engine. 80 more horsepower for towing. The 08 engine was a little better on gas but had no towing power and became an oil burner. Haven't towed yet but I can feel a better punch when I get on it. 3.73 gears are worth the slight mpg drop. I think the 13 is a little too comfortable and fancy.

Don't forget the 5-speed auto is new for 2012+. Couple that with the additional power and you have a much more responsive vehicle. The 6-speed manual is the same, although i think 1st and 6th gears are slightly different.

I just traded in my 2011 JKU Sport for a 2013 JK 2 door Rubicon and I am IN LOVE. The 285 hp is very noticeable (although maybe more for me since I also went smaller to the 2 door). Great pep and pick up. Also, I got the premium soft top which is sooooo much easier to maneuver. The sunrider goes up and down in seconds and the whole roof goes down much easier. This is very important for me as I am petite (5 ft). There are a ton of other things I like about my new jeep over my old one but these couple things are probably the most relevant for you.

Good luck with your decision! I struggled since my JKU was only 2 years old. I have no regrets though. It was a great decision!

As others have noted

the Pentastar V6 alone is a deal maker for going to a 2012 or 2013 IMO.
