2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Reliability

I bought a 2011 Rubicon in June and love it. We are looking to replace the other family car and are test driving Grand Cherokee 70'th Anniversary and Overland models. We did some research on Edmund's and Kelly websites to see what the customer satisfaction levels were for these models. Overall, most customers rate the 2011 Grand Cherokee very highly, but we have noticed quite a lot of negative experiences with the car NOT STARTING after a few thousand miles. Most of the issues seemed to be electronic issues related to the computer that runs the key-less entry and push button ignition. Looks like it is a big problem for these folks.

We live in Chicago, but preferred dealers for warranty work are in northern and northwestern suburbs. Last thing we want to do is purchase a 40 thousand dollar car that we LOVE but can not start.

The wife got one as her daily driver a couple of months ago. She has close to 6,000 miles on hers, and we have had no problems with it not starting. We have the Overland. Didn't care for the colors offered on the 70th Anniversary.

That is what we wanted to hear. We saw a bunch of posts about this issue in Edmund's, But the dealers we talked to said that they never have seen this. We went for the 70'th Anniversary Grand Cherokee. So we have the Rubicon and this one. Rubicon is more fun - agreed. But nice to have both!

It was a month long struggle, but we ended up with the 70'th Anniversary Grand Cherokee. We liked the Overland, but the Dealer wanted an up-charge for the Black one. Decided if we were going to buy the silver one, that the 70'th Anniversary at a different dealer looked BEAUTIFUL for $5,000 less!! We have TWO Jeeps - and love both of them. Glad to hear that your wife's Overland is running well with none of these issues reported in Edmund's!@
