2011 Wrangler Rubicon Power Steering PROBLEM!

Hey everyone! Last night I decided to take my parents who own the jeep out for a ride in the bush. My dad decided to try and get through a little mud hole but burried himself pretty good instead.. my 88' GMC couldn't even pull him out we had to call my buddy with a 81' chevy and 12 inches of lift.. but he yanked er' right out.

Anyways.. first thing they noticed after being pulled out was the steering was SUPER stiff.. they had to drive in 1 hour home like that saying the steering is so stiff its barely driveable. Today I took a look underneath everything looks fine.. checked the fluid and its fine.. pump turns freely etc etc... I really dont know what it is? My dad pressed the stabilizer bar button on the dash when he was stuck (or whatever it is) and he insists that its just dirty and wont re-engage causing the steering problems.. but I think its worse?

ANY ideas???

Jeep only has 4000KM on it!!!!
Oh and before anyone says it.. I have quite a lot of mechanical knowledge and no 4 wheel drive is disengaged...

lost my internet connect while trying post an answer. I've got a Rubicon also, and when the front locker is engaged, it makes the steering wheel hard to turn. You might check and see if the locker was engaged, when he tried to turn. That's all I can think of.

if your front locked is off, im betting he blew the PS pump, i just replaced mine, shaft was broken off inside the pump.
