2012 Jeep Wrangler good first car?!?

Hello, I've just joined this community today and Already am enjoying it!

My question is if the 2012 Jeep wrangler would be a good first car for me. I'm turning 18 in the next few months and I am deciding between a 2012 jeep wrangler or a used 09 300c.

My brother has an 09 300c, and I LOVE it. The 5.7 Hemi just gets me excited and I LOVE the comfort, the power, and everything about it. But I also think about the Jeep Wrangler. Im really wondering if the 3.6 Pentastar is really powerful and feels strong, not weak, and if the jeep wrangler is a really fun car. My biggest concern is the power and strength in the jeep, and how it is.

Firsts Jeeps are not cars unless you race (Talking KOH, Werok RCrocs ect)

IMO get something you can pay for in full for your first car.

If I were in the market for my first ride again I would be looking into late model XJs (cherokees) 97-99s or any TJ (wrangler 97-06)

I agree fully with Irongrave!!! My first car was a 55 Chevy Nomad. I paid $800 for it in 1972 and wish I still had it today. Jeep are nothing more than MONEY PITS. Just Empty Every Pocket is what Jeep stands for an it is 99.99% accurate. I love mine to death as does my wife. But I could not have afforded it when I was 18 if it was a $300 a month payment. If you can afford to pay cash for it, go for it.

They are right. Don't go into debt at 18 years old for a new vehicle. TJ and XJ are both great and you won't have a huge payment for the next 5 years. On the other hand, if you can pay for it up front....then go for it and enjoy.

I think everyone on this site would tell you to go for the Jeep. We're really comparing apples to oranges here though.

The 300 is nice, but obviously can't go off road. Focus is on a nice smooth classy ride.

Jeep is more of a rugged, not smooth ride. More of a fun car.

Test drive them both, I'm sure your decision will be clear after.

You step down into a 300, step up to a Jeep.

I've owned stuff from a 67 Cadillac Calais (wish I still had), to a 76 4x4 GMC which I still have. 4x4s a 2001 Grand Cherokee which I love..BUT, its kinda cramped I hate to say. No I'm not a big person..5'10" 170. It just won't carry gear for 4-5 people, and people comfortably. Last two months I've bought two new vehicles, the first a 2011 Chrysler 200 hardtop convertible. And..oh I love it. Go camping in it with the missus. Even with the top down we can hold most of our stuff in the trunk and just the cooler and bags in the backseat. Aug I ordered a 12' JKU Rubi. I ordered what I wanted for it to be an overlander camping vehicle. Yes..JEEP..Empty Every Pocket. But I love it and I got what I paid for and I'd do it again in a heart beat. As far as smooth ride, the lift I got gave it the "Cadillac Ride". No complaints. No winning drag races, but I'll pass you after you've gotten stuck. and..for a beer come tow you out.
