2012 Sahara or 2012 Sahara Unlimited? HELP!

Everyday driving (40miles a day to and from work). Will start having fun on weekends. Maybe some trips to have fun.

Unless you need the extra doors for kids or family go with a 2 door. Much more frendily on the tighter trails and the sticker price is a little bit better. If it is just to go to and from work and weekend play The 2 door is my choice and is our next vehicle (for wife). We are looking at them now.

Either one will be fun to take out and play off road with and when done with some mods the unlimited Wranglers look pretty damn sweet.

You may want to conscider how much stuff you will be taking along on your weekend fun trips. The unlimited has way more space than the two door.

Just something else to think about.

Sahara. Without the extra doors, your kid's bf will have one less escape route for when you drive him out to the middle of nowhere for that little "chat" after breaking your little girl's heart.

Nobody has mentioned towing. Unlimiteds tow more (per specs, some people still get crazy) than the 2 doors. Planning on a big camper or boat? Or just want enough to tow personal water craft and such? Or you don't care about towing either way?

What are your priorities?

Mine = besides needing lots of room for gear/work/transporting art... maybe the most important consideration is the room to sleep if I don't want to spend the time to put up my tent, or the weather is awful (snowing or raining or blowing like stink - again, don't want to put up my tent)... plenty of room inside for myself and my buddy (arffff) - gear goes on top, or temporarily up front... pad goes down, bag and pillows come out - and voila' - instant bed in a jeep
Love my 4 door.

Make a list of your priorities.... could help your quandary

I traded a 2010 2 door for an 2011 unlimited and love it. The problem with the 2 door is getting anything into the back seat. I think it probably had just enough space but for my wife to reach to get anything back there, or for people to get back there was a real pain. Definetely check them both out and see for yourself how it is to get in the back seat. In the end its all on what you want.

Towing, Don’t have anything to tow, thinking of getting a par of jet skis. I live 10 minute WALK from Lake Erie. About 10 minute drive to the docks. Other than that a trailer to do stuff around house. If we do get a boat I would dock it and my wife has a 2011 Kia Sorrento that could handle that. If I get a camper it would be a small pop up.

The only thing I really have with me is 2 15# lap dogs, wife, kid, and BF, 10 x 10 pop up and 4 chairs and a cooler. MAX. I did take both out for a test drive for 45mins each. It was fun!!!!! Fell in love with the two door. And the 4 door Sahara is a little out of my price range. Manley it will be ether me and the wife or me and the kid.
