My wife and I are having our first baby in a few months and we thinking about purchasing a new Jeep before hand.

We currently have two SUV's but one is getting old. We would like the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara or Rubicon but we cannot find much information on infant car seats in Wranglers. I've read there is too much over hang for the car seat base in the wrangler and its not a great option. Or that the front passengers knees are in the dash for the car seat to fit.

Anyone on here have any experience with car seats? Any more room in the rear seat of the 2015? I can't find a measurement of the seat width online. It looks like Bestop is coming out with a Trektop Pro which will make it easier to get the stroller and bags out of the back not having to deal with zippers. So my only concern is the fit of the car seat.

Any information would help!
Thanks!

I have a 2014 Unlimited and recently graduated from an infant seat to a bigger child seat. Depending on the model of infant seat and how tall you and any front passengers are, you might run into space issues unless you mount it in the middle rear passenger position. Even the biggest infant and then the bigger kid seat for the next step up fit just fine in the middle.

Edit- Forgot to mention, they get a better view in the middle, too. :thumb:

Is that the kids stroller behind the seat.... just waiting to fly into the kids face when you t-bone the guy who runs a stop sign in front of you?

Ill have to help you out with pictures at a later date. But my lady and I have two little ones both in rear facing seats. (oldest 18 months, youngest 6months). One seat is a high back convertible which sits behind the passenger side, the other is a infant seat with detachable base.

It took us awhile shopping for vehicles that both these seats fit in before settling on our 14 JKU. We have found there to be plenty enough room for everything we need. We did however just recently pick up a hardtop, which makes getting our side by side jogging stroller much easier to get into the back, as laying flat folded up it was just barely to tall to slide under the rear window, which cased me to have to unzip and lift the bottom bar up every time we needed the stroller in and out (pita!) .. We certainly don't have the room we once had in our F150 crewcab!. But everything else about the jeep makes up for the extra space. Its very nice for the wifey to be able to reach the children in their seats if they are choking on their fingers or some other type of need for attention..

We are however looking to upgrade both the kids seats too something different soon as our smallest is quickly growing out of her infant seat. We wanted matching convertibles and need a spare for the grandparents anyway.

I must have a larger infant seat, I have the new Gerber 40 I think it is. It's the newest one on the market and allows for the kid to stay in longer than other seats. Don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I don't think I can put this seat in the middle AleYeah as the base is so long. It would require the driver seat to be moved forward, so it would be uncomfortable for me. I'm only 5'9 so I don't have the seat all the way back, but I'm not too far from it. The pass side seat is roughly 2/3 the way forward with it in. My wife is only 5'3 so it doesn't bother her too much.

But our primary care for carrying the kid is a full size sedan, so it's not in my jeep much.

One thing to consider is actually getting the seat into the jeep. If you deciede to lift your jeep and your wife is short, it may make getting the baby in difficult. Something to consider.

Most places I believe will let you try the car seat out in your car. Like Toy's R Us for example. I never did it, but that's what I read. Also, I believe the Britex seats are smaller than most.

Thanks, this helps out a lot. I was concerned about the ease of getting the stroller in and out but Bestop is coming out with a soft top with a full glass in the back to lift up, no zippers.

I probably won't put a lift on it for now. I'm 6'1" and my wife is 5'7" and we also have a Ford Edge which can be the primary vehicle. We registered for the Graco Snugrider, I can find the measurement for the base but not the width of the rear bench.

Thanks for all the replies!
