Was considering it, 2 of the other gals that I was in the waiting room with are going. We are friends on FB now and it would be cool to meet in person. It's a 3 or 4 hour drive for me so not really far at all. It looks like a cool event.
Looks like just an invasion. I was thinking we could do just one day and then putz around the next day. Cades Cove would be fun to drive through in the Jeep, we did it last year in our car, had a black bear walk right in front of us.
We last went out there with my mom and step-father in 2015 (I think it was, could have been 2014) and saw 9 different bears after buying a carved, wooden bear.
If I can't go to Rocky Mountain National Park, I'll take my wife to Cades Cove. I've been visiting Colorado for nearly 40 years. We took my wife for her first trip to CO in 1991, before we got married. We took her to Cades Cove around 1992/93. As a family we've been visiting Cades Cove since the late 80's.
It's about an 8 hour drive for us. I think we'll hit the invasion on Friday and then Saturday will be our fun day. Unless the weather makes us adjust our plans.
We have our room reserved, on the river in Townsend.
