4" lift on 33s?

I'm putting a 2.5" suspension, 1.5" spacer lift with 33x12.5 tires on 16x5 wheels with 4.5" bs. I got a high performance steering stabilizer. My jeeps got dana 44 axels in both the front and back is geared at 3.73. Should I regear for the bigger tires? And do I need a yoke slip eliminator or a rear extended drive shaft for that much of a lift?

1) unless you have the Rubicon you have a D30 front.

2) What engine and trans do you have? I have a 4.0L and 5 speed with 3.73s and couldn't stand the loss of power. I ended up gearing to 4.56.

3) From what I've read, you shouldn't, but every Jeep is different.

Oh dang I stand corrected! Well what transmission do you have? If you have the 5 speed like me, I wouldn't gear any lower if its your DD. I can't imagine the highway rpm. That is, unless you plan on going to 35s in the future.

Alright thanks for the advice! The gearing thing has always been confusing to me.

You still haven't told us what transmission you have! Its important because if you have the 3 speed auto you want 4.11s, if you have the 5 speed manual you want 4.56, and if you have the 4 speed auto you want 4.88s. All of those are with 33" tires of course.

No problem man. I will tell you that 4.56 is perfect. I have 5th gear back on the highway and it just performs well all around. What I did is I got my lift and tires, and while I was saving up for regearing, I was determining if I really needed it. Some people say that 3.73 is fine for 33" tires but I could not stand the power loss. It just depends on your tolerance. Your gas mileage should return to stock too. Also, if you do regear done don't forget the new speedometer gear to get your speedometer straight.

Beat if luck!

it doesn't really matter what axles you have, but would you mind posting a picture of your front pumpkin?
