I know Quadratec is a sponsor on this site and you will probably lock this post, but I just have to complain about what I think is and excessive shipping charge. I live 25 miles from them and they want to charge me 40 bucks in shipping charges. I called and told them where I lived and they would not do anything about adjusting the charge. "No specials right now" is what I was told.

Well Quadratec you lost a nice sale today to a company in NJ, who thought $9 shipping was fair.

So much for trying to support your local businesses.

That's not necessary.

If you think the shipping is excessive, get a quote from a competitor. Use that to negotiate with the first company, if you're intent to do business with them. If they won't play ball, take your business elsewhere.
Having bought thousands of dollars of performance parts over the years, I do find Q-Tec's shipping to be high. I have a feeling they use a shipping estimator, and they probably charge a flat fee for shipping boxes of a certain size, that goes up incrementally. This is not uncommon.

Also, I believe you can pick your parts up at their warehouse if you're close.

Hello,

I apologize about your experience with our company. I offer free shipping and price matching for all forum members that place their order with me here. We also have a pick up window in our West Chester, PA location. The pick up window would also have no shipping charge, and if any item is not in stock here than it would be shipped for free. I hope you have a great day, and wonderful Holiday.

-Joe

Great job Joe. OP, what did you order? Very heavy things are surcharged by the shipping companies, as are very light, but oddly shaped items. Companies are also be hit by residential delivery and fuel sucharges by these shipping companies which are outrageous.

I believe I read a post somewhere as well about Q-tec doing something based on price rather than item's size/shape. Don't quote me on that, but I believe it was to provide the fairest rates to everyone.

25 miles from the nearest store or 25 miles from where the item shipped? Was there a pick up from a local store option when ordering?

Also what were you ordering? I've heard that some of the larger items like bumpers and such ship directly from the manufaturer. maybe your product was shipping out from the other side of the country?

Also with the 25 miles from quadratec, why wouldn't you just drive there to pick it up?

I used to have to drive 300 miles just to go to cabelas, until they opened one 3 miles away from where I work...

I was ordering an onboard air system and various other things, all were in stock at the West Chester facility. I did not have the time to go to the West Chester facility, because 1. I was going on vacation and 2, I work 6 days a week and they are not opened for pick up on weekends.
