46 days!

Ah, 46 days until I hit the trails around Telluride, CO for two weeks. Can't wait to put the new Rubicon through her paces.

It'll be a nice trip. Very pretty country. Bring your own oxygen.

I am jealous. In the late 60's my father and i took a Buick Wildcat over Loveland Pass in CO. I was a teenager wjose job was tossing out the rocks from the center of the road so it wouldn't bottom out. Jeep drivers were amazed we did it. (We had to take off the rear wheel well covers.)

Life is good

Loveland pass is a now a well paved road. They use it all winter long for trucks that can't go thru the tunnels.

Still one of the prettiest drives out there. But you were lucky to get there early.

rlew0083: this site is run by a friend of mine. It has all the trails in Colorado mapped out and described.

Here are some photos from the classic Black Bear Pass. It drops right into Telluride. No, drops isn't the right word. It plummets right into Telluride. A little bit of a butt-puckerer, but a great trip.

Black Bear is on my "want to do list." I just have to get the nerve up to do it. I have befriended some people that live in Telluride and they do it all the time so I am hoping they have a day to spare while I am there and Jay can guide me down it.
