5.7 or 3.6

i've been looking at getting something to replace my extended cab truck for a little while now. i have been looking at grand cherokees lately. i have narrowed it down to 2. one is a 2010 and has 13k miles with the 5.7. the other is a 2012 with 30k miles and has the 3.6. no doubt the 3.6 will do better on gas, which is the main reason i need to trade. both will do better than my truck. the 12 has a little bit newer body but they are both similarly equipped. the v8 is a grand more. which one would you get?

I just sold a 2011 GC overland with 5.7. It got 17-18 MPG in town and 21 or so HWY.. So pretty good considering the power. I felt the new GC was underpowered with the 3.6, it weighs in at almost 5000 lbs. The newer model V8 has MDS which helps with mileage, not sure about the previous model. Stay away from models with the Qaudra-lift built in 2010 as 2011 models, it gave lots of trouble on mine which was ultimately the reason for getting rid of it. Mine was an "early" production QL though.
