Hi-Lift jacks have to be one of the most over-rated pieces of kit out there, and the overpriced Hi-Lift accessories only make the over-ratedness worse, IMHO.

How so? Please elaborate.

I have a "hi-lift" , its really just a farm jack, and it is very handy to have around, I've used it to get unstuck while rock crawling, to change the wheels or work on the axle (put it on jack stands of course) and with all the other "attachments" it's even more useful, yes they can be dangerous but you put any tool in the hands of an un-experienced person and it becomes dangerous.
