8.8 no trac lok?

ford 8.8 rear axle

i found this 8.8 no trac lok. not sure what trac lok is? im going to regear to 4.88s. is this worth it?

depending on where u are at in nc, marsh's auto in siler city may be another option for you.

YJ dad is on a distinguished road
They have 2 yards, the one on 64 specializes in jeeps the guy at the counter is very knowledgeable in conversions he is a jeep enthusiast.

Thats a pretty good deal Id say. I paid 100 for mine...and have heard of guys paying alot more than that or 150 even. I am pretty sure the trac lok you are talking about is the posi/limited slip. The disadvantage to the trac lok (assuming its the posi) is that there are very few companies that make a lunchbox locker that will fit it. If you have intentions of putting a full case locker in...it doesnt matter if it has a trac lok or not. If you plan on just putting a lunchbox locker in, you will want the axle without a trac lok to allow you more options for lunchbox lockers.

im not sure if im going to lock it or not yet... i dont run the rubicon, just stuff around the area, and ive considered a locker, but havent gone to in depth with it... most of my offroading is trails, and mud, so a locker will be like next march if i get one

I personally would as long as everything looked kosher when u went to look/pick it up. For 150 I think that's a pretty reasonable price...especially if you are capable of doing the fab/swap yourself or have someone that can help u.

i have done my reading and have the tools. im relatively new to jeeps but i think i can do most of the swap. hardest part will be gathering the money to pay for gears and a regear... but i will email him then and pull the trigger. i keep getting ready to buy a winch then find a good deal on somthing i need...
