95 wrangler for $5,500 yes or no

I've been recently offered a 95 jeep wrangler 4.0L 5 speed, it has only 94,000 miles on, it has no rust, and has never been off-roading. It also comes with a hard top. My question is, is this a good deal or should i offer him less?

it is increasingly hard to find a nice yj. look very carefully for rust, also check rear of frame, rocker panels in and out, floor pan, and windshield frame. if it runs good, and 4 wd works it sounds about right, i think its a little hi, but, the difficulty of finding a nice yj makes it more valuable, if its what you want. maybe some tj guys could tell if you could get a 97 or so tj, w/ 4.0 for similar price. not that i'd ever steer anybody in that direction

if you really want a yj, it sounds like a nice jeep, i'd still haggle.

Take a look around the shackle area on the frame for rust.

Sounds pretty good to me. I paid $4500 for my 95 a couple of years ago, but it has the 2.5l. I'd still invest in an hour of a good mechanic's time unless you have the ability to check it over well yourself.

pay a good mechanic to look at any used vehicle you want to buy. great advice. it is worth every penny. and anything looks good in pictures. definately be careful, there could be some skeletons hiding.
