97 wrangler 4 banger

Replacing the lower radiator house and realized the old hose has a spring inside, but the new hose didn't come with one. Should I not worry with the spring and install new house with out? Also what I'd the purpose behind having the spring in the factory hose? There isn't one inside the upper radiator hose. The guy from auto zone said I didn't need the spring but I thought it was too keep the line from caving in from the water pump.

Awesome just wanted to make sure before I installed New part. However I just found that the leak is actually coming from the pump not the lower hose. It looks like it could be leaking from the bolt going through on the bottom of the pump. Hard to see without any disassembly.
