Question 98 wrangler 2.5 4.0 swap

i know every one says its more work than it wroth and just buy one with a 4L but i like my jeep and i want this one.
so i have a 98 se 2.5 wrangler and i would like to stay with the np231 t case and i would like to put a 4.0 in and use the trans that comes with the 4.0. so where i have the ? is i know that u have to cut off the motor mounts plates and weld them up farther on the frame how much farther and is there a kit or templit that i can buy and who would sell it? i now i have to have the ecu trans and motor out of a wrangler what elts do i need?

take the t-case too. The t-case behind the 4.0 is also a np231j like yours. But it will have a 23 spline input shaft instead of a 21 spline like yours has. So it will be stronger. Take the wiring harness as well. Hell take the driveshafts if you can and use those to figure out where to place the motor.

Check out Novak Jeep Conversions - Home for all your conversion needs. Granted, they're more geared towards Chevy engines (which for the money is where you should instead look towards) but they've got some info that should be of service.
