A Face Only a Mother Could Love...

What were they smoking when they designed this?

I don't know about you, but I want "tough" looking Jeeps, not "cutesie" ones.

I like it, despite being Pontiac Aztek-ish. In two years, it'll be the norm and no one will notice it anymore.

Kind of a sleek, modern look. As long as the quality is there and the sticker price isn't too ridiculously high I bet they will sell well. I actually like it.

I won't be trading in my JK anytime soon for one of those.

By doing this, they are diversifying, (marketing strategy ploy), and trying to bring in a wide range of buyers.

We all have our opinions, but I think that it looks, not great, but O.K.

Must be asian designer, they do like this styles Anyway I saw it on highways already, they are small! Much smaller than older Cherokee, I would say 1/2 of Cherokee No, it is not for me. Anything I would ever pick from Jeep is Grand Cherokee or Wrangler Unlimited and maybe old Cherokee which is probably best they ever did!

BS. What exactly do the patriot, liberty, compass, and grand cherokee do to diversify jack crap? Basically they have the wrangler, wrangler 4 door, and then fifteen to twenty of the same bullcrap chick junk with different names on them.

What they are doing is watering down the jeep brand name. Jeeps are no longer tough, rugged, reliable, go anywhere vehicles, they are "oh thats so cute" like everything else.

I think they need to get rid of every jeep other than the JK, JKU, and liberty, and liberties should come with the spare tire on the tailgate and the renegade light bar as base options.

Before i broke my leg, I pointed out a 2014 GC to my girlfriend the other day. shes like OH ITS SO CUTE. I later pointed out an 80s cherokee with a lift kit and nice tires...im like, this is what a cherokee is supposed to look like. She didnt say much, but she liked it.

Later i saw a girl in a mid 90s grand cherokee, stock. Im like...thats a grand cherokee. LOOK A GIRL drIVING IT! its a chick car!

and by the way, the MSRP on grand cherokees *is* ridiculous. Atleast you can get a base wrangler for $21k or so still. Some of us just want a wrangler and will put up with not having a passenger side front seat to save a few bucks.

Wow. You have a girlfriend? How does she like your cave? I call BS my friend. Strange but I see plenty of men driving the chick mobiles you claim are so "cute". And plenty of men drive stock Jeeps.
It's a plain fact that JKUs and Cherokees boost $$$. Chrysler doesn't sell vehicles to make you feel good about your manhood. They sell them to make money. In case you haven't noticed every manufacturer is cashing in on the SUV piggy bank. Be happy they sell them vs. turning the Wrangler into the Liberty to fill the niche.

I just read a review on it by Car and Driver. They seem to think it's going to be a big hit and were impressed by its features. 31 mpg EPA rating on the highway should attract some buyers who want fuel economy and 4WD.

I like the Park Assist thing. I thought that was cool, ever since I saw it on a Volvo.

I think it is going to sell very well. Do I like it? Compared to a Ford Escape, Honda CRV, or a Toyota Rav4, which are probably three of its major competitors. I like it the best of those three.

This is my Cherokee... to me this will always be the Cherokee. Not that crappy looking Kia knockoff they're trying to call a Cherokee.

They gave it a European flare ,it doesn't look too bad I sat in one at the dealer while they were cleaning my wrangler .Id prefer my jeep but I can't say its ugly, considering the options out there , there is much worse looking.

Someone a couple months ago resurrected a thread dating back to the days when the Unlimited was debuted. What people typed in their messages has remained unchanged, but their signatures are what they currently have. It was interesting, as some of the most vocal on how ugly and un-wrangler it was, now have 'JKU' listed in their sig.

You'll learn to like it.

I think they're trying to tag along on the upper crossovers like Range Rover, BMW, Acura with that sleekie body style and a hint of off road machismo that's appealing to the ladies and Metrosexual crowd, at a lower price tag.

I think if they used the Grand's headlights instead of weird lights all over the place it would be a start for looks. Make Trailhawk specs the basic platform and get more rugged from there.

How many other stock vehicles would even attempt this let alone succeed?
I can't even find a video of a stock XJ doing the same thing.

So let me get this straight, just because i hold the cherokee as sacred as a wrangler, i am stupid, live in a cave, and undatable? I would actually argue this would be you.

Whats the niche? The same dang niche as every other jeep besides the wrangler? Why not go make another mcsuv? Youre the least intelligent person i have dealt with in months.

Nothing wrong with men driving them. I own a hyundai santa fe. Its good for moving things around.

I think the Grand's headlights would be a plus. But then again who am I? The thing is selling, and at the end of the day that's all Chrysler cares about.

I wouldn't keep it if they gave it to me, but as long as they don't mess with the Wrangler, whatever products keep them in business are OK with me.
