A little direction please..............

We have a 2002 Wrangler, but this problem is with our 2005 Grand Cherokee. On the center dash there are the 3 climate control knobs, fan speed, temp control, and the air direction, the air direction is no longer illuminated at night, but the other 2 still are illuminated. I would guess that a bulb would be the first thing to look at, but with the newer Jeeps I don't even know if there are bulbs back there, maybe it is some type of LED light? Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it, where to find a schematic on how to take that part of the dash apart, or any other help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Scooby

i've had the pleasure of working on newer grand cherokee climate control systems all too much. there's a lot of modules and electric motors going on. blend doors are activated by modules, and so on. that climate control module is not serviceable, i'm 98% sure. if thats the case, i'd put up with the no illumination at night, as that control module is over 300 bux.

and i'd say try used parts, but i had one grand cherokee where the customer asked us to get them a used one, and i got two bad ones, before one good one came in.

I do have the extended warranty so I can get all of the work done for $100.00, so I suppose that I should do it that way.

Thanks again, Scooby
