About to buy a new Wrangler, tell me what I'm missing

I sold my '92 YJ many years ago and I've been missing it ever since. I'm going to fix that shortly with a new one.

Here's what I'm thinking:

2012 Sport S

Gotta have's

* Manual trans
* 3.73 gears
* Power windows/AC
* 17" Wheels

Think I want's

* Soft top
* Tinted windows
* Limited slip differential

The car will be used for short daily commuting and weekend fun. I'm not going to go rock crawling or anything, but I want something that is capable. Is the LSD a must have? Am I missing anything?

The MSRP on something like this is around 28. Am I crazy for thinking I can get it for 24-25?

Power convenience group (power locks, windows, remote keyless entry, heated power mirrors) I also like the Connectivity group (Elec vehicle info center, Uconnect voice command (bluetooth)), side air bags, deep tinted windows, Dual top group (soft and hard top, and Trailer tow group).

A bone stock sport is plenty capable for some weekend fun. Get the options you feel you need to live with a vehicle that you drive daily.

My most important question right now is about the LDS. I understand what it will give me off road, but is it worth it? If I know I need traction I'll be in 4WD and the LDS isn't even activated, right? What's the point then? Sudden, unexpected loss of traction during daily driving, or maybe better handling when turning?

I admit that I have been considering the Rubi as well. So tempting...

From what I've been led to believe the limited slip is good for slick conditions on road. Personally I will be getting it as it really isn't much to add on, and it won't hurt. I would recommend the deep tinted windows.
Other things I want when I get mine:
Connectivity group
Upgraded sound system
Half doors

Half doors is the big one, tough to find on the lot so I will be ordering new.

LSD (limited slip differential) works all the time. And yes, it is also helpful off road. Some folks believe the best setup is LSD in the rear, locker up front.

So if I engage 4WD, does the limited slip still apply? The sale guy led me to believe that once 4WD is engaged everything is locked anyways.

The sales guy probably drives a KIA. Just sayin. Yes LSD is still functional in 4hi/lo. Its a traction control device, if it locked everything up it would be a "locker" and to answer your question about $.... got the wife a 2012 4dr softtop sport 6spd with 6miles on the clock. For $25800. With running boards,towpackage, premium sound, lsd rear,some other odds and ends. Stare'm down, be WILLING to walk away, let them know you are willing. They will crack.

I don't know but I went through all this for a week...and picked up a new Rubi today. If not Rubi, get the LSD- it is a huge help in snow/sand...from what I read and hear.

I will get Flamed for this but...I have one. Granted it is what was on the lot but I probably would have got it anyway because it fits my needs.

Drive a '12 JK Sport AUTO with 3.21s than think about what you will be using it for how much off road it will really see...ask them to explain the "slapstick" shifter in the auto as well.

Okay flame away.

My only defense is it works for me.

My 87 is a 4spd auto ....and my 76 is going to have a turbo400. A stick IS fun, but an auto IS convenient. And comfortable.
