alright jeep gods, i need a little help!!

so heres whats up.... i got a 2000 tj, broken diff.. i took the cover off noticed broken spiders. order new ones for the open diff dana 35 i THOUGHT i had.... no such luck,.... went to go put in new gears, realized i had the dana 35 track loc..... DAMNIT!, broken trac loc plates.... and i dont have the know how to get the gears out and/or the tool.

so whats the best course of action here????

find someone around richmond va that has knowledge of this and make a new friend?

take it to a shop and pay out the ass?

replace the whole diff with a locker? (which would be the obvious choose since the price isnt that much more,,, but then again i dont think i can install that either)

or (insert another option)

what do yall think????

you could swap in another complete used axle
used D35s are fairly cheap or upgrade to a D44 from a rubicon

If it were me, I would find a good used replacement and swap it out. That would probably be the easiest thing to do.

Easier said than done. People want gold prices for their TJ D44s.

well those were all good suggestions. i went thru all those, with very little luck , but it did lead me down the rabbit hole to learn all sorts of random knowledge about my jeep that i never knew!

in the end i didnt find a used dana35 "traclok" kit or even an open diff. but instead found a guy who upgraded to a rubi, but not before buying a "dana35 27spline 3.54 +up trutrac lsd" for his old tj , thats just been sitting on his shelf, (score!!) got it for a good price and now just got to find someone to install it properly!
well its not a d44 with airlocker but it will get me around!
