Am new to Jeeps so be kind :-)

New to the whole Jeep scene but excited to finally own one. Just purchased a 2006 X (I think the 06 is a TJ?)
Anyway it will be a daily around town drive and would like to also be able to do some moderate off roading ( since we have the Uwharrie's right here)

What if any mods or equipment should be on it? Hubby noticed it does not have a skid plate (though obvious to the mud in some unreachable places it was taken off road)

Since neither of us know a thing about off roading we do not plan on going out without guidance!

No skidplate? Buy one asap.
And take your Jeep offroad when it's stock so you get the feel of it... But nothing crazy. Then from there you should be able to tell what your Jeep needs and what you wan for it

Make sure you have proper recovery points and at least a recovery strap with loops, not hooks. And don't wheel alone. Once you've wheeled a few times stock, you'll probably find that better tires (depending on what's on there now) may be in order, other than that, you really don't need anything to wheel it.

Get an air pump and air down the tires to about 13-15 pis. It will make the ride way more pleasant. You don't need much, jeeps do very well when stock. This is a clip i made years ago when i got my first jeep. 100% stock except for 31s. I turned around when the trail got real rocky due to low clearance with 4 adults in the car.

Yep, we were kinda surprised there was not a skidplate, I assumed they came stock on Jeeps, should not be to tough to find one ( suggestions welcomed) and get it installed. It is very rocky where we are and dont want to risk busting the oil pan even on an easy trail.
