Can you post a photo when it's finished? I've been thinking about doing the same to my YJ.

It skirts the edge of the law in Florida (See below), but unless the officer is looking to give you a ticket you should be ok.

316.220 Headlamps on motor vehicles.—
(1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with at least two headlamps with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in this chapter, and shall show a white light. An object, material, or covering that alters the headlamp’s light color may not be placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied over a headlamp.

Looks cool thou =)

Looks cool but I wouldn't do it on a road driver. Jeep headlights aren't praised for their output. The portion of the reflector being covered would affect low and spread portion of the beam. Changing the beam pattern in that manner is not a good thing. Winand already stated it about FL. It is not legal here. Technically its also against federal regulations just like bulb swap HID conversions. There are a few replacement housings that work well and are legal but most arent.
Now.... putting shutters shaped like that with motors so it will blink would be awsome. Of course the ability to just wink one when you see the lady jeepers would be even better.

It varies from state to state. They would be legal in Ohio but illegal in Pennsylvania.

was going to tell you. Tape off the portion of the headlight you dont want to cover and use lens tint on the eyelids, you would still have the same look in the day but would have full lights at night........think about it.
