Another Bumper one

Does anyone have these? They seem extremely cheap and look pretty good:

Thanks!

I like the look of them. I'm not sure how strong they are, but they look awesome.

They look good but for the money they're asking I think you could find something "name brand" that you could grow with. It doesn't look like you could mount a winch plate on there later on. Unless I missed it somewhere. I think SRC Smittybilt and Toys by Troy make something similar that should be around that price.

Just my .02 :o

Is the TJ different that the YJ? Do you not mount the winch plate to the frame?

All winch plates are mounted to the frame. It's just that all bumpers can not accomodate the winch plate itself.

Oh. I never thought much about it, because my stock bumper still works for me. Even through a serious roll over. Good info though.

I don't know anything about this vendor but I did see this bumper on their website and it looked similar to what you're looking for:

That's cheap? for a tubular bumper?
Man, I need a tubing bender, I could whip one of those out in an hour.

No phone number on the site and a po box never makes me feel warm and fuzzy about sending money..

Well I wasn't endorsing the vendor, just showing him the bumper.

I know. I was just pointing out something that concerned me, may not concern others. Bumper looks okay though.

I agree. There are a lot of shady vendors out there. I wouldn't buy anything from anyone online who doesn't have a physical address or a good phone number listed.

Thank you all!
I've been looking for something reasonably priced for a while so this was just a thought since they really are a lot cheaper than all the other brand name ones. around 400 for both incl. shipping. I know you get what you pay for, but I don't do heavy off-roading on rocks - just sand and snow for now. I don't think I'll need a winch, just a hitch in the back.
I'll keep looking.
Thanks again!

You mean these?
They are the first ones I looked at until I found the cheaper version on ebay. From the pics they don't look way different and I can't tell if the quality is the same or not.

I looked at a set of Ram tube bumpers (like those you are looking at on Ebay) that were mounted on a Jeep last summer when we were up in Big Bear. I was not impressed by the quality or materials used to make them. They seemed rather wimpy. The tubing seemed small and looked very light weight. I don't think that they would hold up well if you hit something with them. (And by the way, the receiver is not rated for towing at all.) I guess the big question is: what are you looking for, form or function?

I went with the SRC bumpers. They are very well built and look very strong. The rear has a class 2 rated hitch receiver. Got the rear last week (paid $150 on Ebay, it was local so I didn't have to pay shipping) like this one: ebay link It's now over at a friends house, he is building me a tire carrier for it.

When I manage to save up another $250, I'll buy the front one. ebay link

Pop out to a muffler shop and have them bend and tig/mig weld the tubing. Take your original bumper cut to size grind clean and weld all tubes to that. Then take dupli color blk bed liner spray and coat generously. With some creative imagination and some stailess steel tubing 2-3..1/2" you can creat some awsome diy bumpers.
