Anti-theft

Alright, so now that the weather is getting to the nice range again. I'm obviously going to be putting on my soft top. And when my soft top goes on, a little bit inside of me worries about my Jeep when I sleep at night. (sad, I know lol) but I was wondering if anyone knows any anti theft things for my steering wheel or anything. If you use anything and if you like it. I know I'm buying piece of mind, but when it comes to my Jeep, it's worth it

Thanks everyone.

If someone wants to steal it, it won't matter if you have a soft top or a hard top. Just don't leave anything of value in it.

Lol if my Jeep gets stolen, the last things I'm worried about would be the stuff inside. Lol

I agree with daggo...

just dont leave anything of value in it...thats pretty much all you can do.

The most valuable thing i leave in there during this time of year is my favorite pocket knife since i cant take it into the bank with me...

I've got a trektop nx so just using the safari feature at the moment...no doors or windows right now and thats how she stays for most of the summer

I doubt anyone would steal your entire jeep unless you park in barren places without any light for extended periods of time...just keep an eye on it and park where it will be seen at all times, not just by you but others.

Just don't leave it in shady looking alleyways and you should be fine.

I had an alarm system installed in my TJ after it got broken into. It has the regular car alarm, put a sensory alarm. If the top/doors are off and anything breaks the surface of the jeep the alarm goes off. Works pretty well. Forgot I had in on, reached inside to grab my jacket and the damn thing went crazy. I also had a second speaker for the alarm installed, so it's crazy loud. Besides that, never leave anything of value visible inside your jeep. Most car break ins happen because something of value can be seen from outside.

Well to answer your questions. Yes I have security system on my Jeep. The Viper 5901 has a 2 way remote that will tell me if my alarm is going off. also have a backup battery and motion sensor (also called radar sensor, Beeps the alarm when someone gets too close to your Jeep)

Also when I park at night, since the Jeep is kinda far from my house, I turn the wheel all the way to one side and put the club on it. Just makes it more difficult for someone to put it on a flatbed and nearly impossible to pick up the rear and tow it.

Now, I definately agree that if someone wants to steal it they will, all we can do is make it a little harder for them to do it. Hope this helps you decide what type of system you need/want.

I just use the military way and padlock a chain from the brake pedal and the steering wheel.

The OP is considering switching to a soft top. If someone is going to steal the whole Jeep it doesn't matter which top is on it. However, the soft top brings about a different set of security issues. It's much easier amd more inviting to steal items left inside, get it now?

The jeep with hard top and full doors is a tank. All it's missing is bullet proof glass
