Any performance tips?

I am about to get a 97 4 cylinder jeep wrangler.Any good performance upgrades to give it a little more giddy-up?

welcome to wf! congrats on your future purchase.

and you should buy a different vehicle if you want speed. just lift it, put big tires on and go wheeling. don't need speed for that.

but if you insist on modding your '97, there are chip mods and better exhaust systems and CAI's (waste of money imo, but some swear they can "feel the torque and hp increase")...also a re-gear might give you a bit of a bite off the line but your top end speed will be greatly limited.

happy modding!

Welcome to the forum.
As far as performance for the 2.5 I4 there is not too much available. If lifting with tires/wheels a re-gear is going to be your best bet.

Mike.

Depending your tire size you can regear your axles to bring your power levels back to stock.. That is all you can do.. Everything else is total junk and a waste of money
