I was in the shop yesterday. The battery failed after 11 months of ownership. Chrysler replaced it, but I promptly left the dealership and headed straight to Sears and had a Diehard Platinum installed.
Same here, though my YJ was never under warranty while I owned it. It's been in the shop (driveway) for over 2 years while I decided what I wanted to do with it and in what order. So I finally bought a TJ because I couldn't stand it any more LOL.
I have a TJ, when it goes to the "shop", it is sitting in my garage. I just rolled it out of the garage last weekend after being worked on for 2 weeks. Love the simplicity and being able to fix it myself.
I have a 2010 JKU Sport and my girl was quite sick last week. Valve spring decided to give up the ghost. Thank GOD everything was under warranty! I get her home and noticed clicking sounds when turning. Off we go to our preferred mechanic and now she has two new u-joints!
Did I miss her? You betcha I did! When the valve spring went, I was told on Monday that I might not have her back until the following week. A pit formed in my stomach. A wonderful day was had when the part came in and they had her ready by Thursday at lunch. It could have been raining and gloomy that day but nothing could have beat the smile off of my face when I took my girl back to work!
I had to send my DD XJ to the shop this week. Sounds like Monday before I get it back. Until then I am driving the TJ every day. I've put more miles on it in the last week than I have in 8 months!
