Man I ordered some Neoprene seat covers from there and I am not sure I like the way they do business. First off they charged my account over $400 and the price was suppose to be $197 out the door shipping included. Second they charged me tax and I don't live in that state. Then when I got the covers one of the front ones had a big chunk missing in it. So I call them and they told me I had to ship them back and they would send me some new ones but that would have took at least 2 weeks so they said I could pay for a new set and they would send them that day. I decided to just wait but when I asked about them double charging me they said that is standard for all online orders. I said what if I did not have enough money in there then it would have made me over drawn. She said I know and I am sorry, but there was no warning when I placed the order. They seem like a very shady company to me and I doubt I will do business with them again. Anyone have any suggestions on a new site to order from?

I've used 4wd.com multiple times and have had nothing but great service from them. They didn't over bill my account or charge me any tax. In fact, I ordered my wheels from them and then a month later they had a "buy 4, get one free" deal. They refunded the cost of the 5th wheel to me without any hassle.

If I were you, I'd call customer service back and ask to speak to a manager. They should make it right. What you are describing is opposite of what I experienced with them.

it has become standard now days when someone orders to run a charge immediately to get authorization, then run the real charge, and with in a couple days the first "authorization" charge drops off.

i've had to deal with this myself, even in my shop the credit card companies do it. if you check right away you'll see it. if you only check once a month, you won't see it.

maybe thats all this is.

4wd, qtec and jcwhitney are all middle man... they have some parts in stock in their warehouses but most of their stuff is shipped directly from the actual manufacturer of the part. For example your seat covers are not shipped by 4wd but by the person that makes them. Most of the time they have never even seen the product in their hands in their lifetime. They just tell you what they are being told by the manufacturer.

i never had a problem with them.

@triple88a:

that´s not true. all the ditributors ship to 4wd.com and they ship all the parts together in one package to the customer.
4wd.com had all parts in stock everytime i ordered something. only the last time i had to wait 3 weeks until they had the front ARB cover back in stock. then they sent me all the parts (parts from 8 different manufacturers) with one big package to me.

I've made lots of orders through them and spent thousands of dollars over the phone and the internet and have never once had an overcharge or an order problem. Great customer service. Everytime I call they already know who I am before I tell them. I did it just yesterday for my ring and pinion which arrived this morning.

I may be a minority in this but my experience w/ 4wd was miserable. First I ordered from 4wheel parts, but when invoice came it said 4WD Hardware. Seems they are the same company? I ordered radiator hoses as a kit for my TJ, they sent me radiator hoses for a Liberty. When i called them about it they said no we sent you parts for a TJ. I told them the hose they sent me was 6" shorter than the one on my jeep. They told me someone must have done something aftermarket on my jeep??? After doing some research on there website I found out that they had labeled the box twice, one Part number for a TJ, one part number for a Liberty. I called them once again and explained what happened. They gave me a return shipping label and told me they would refund my money only after they had confirmed the parts were shipped incorrect. Thirty days later, after I had a conformation of them receiving the return and still no refund I give them another call. They don't even know what I'm talking about. To shorten this a bit It took me calling them every week for five weeks to finally get a return. They told me three times that they had given me a credit, only to find that a week later still no credit. I will not ever shop with them again. Not once during this whole process did I ever receive an apology for what happened.

I have done a fair bit of business with these guys personally. Actually I just bought my winch and winch plate from them..no issues.

Also they do a fair bit of promotion stuff for us, plus there is a store about 5 miles from where I work, so i am in there all the time.
