Anyone run a Mile Marker PE8000?

Getting a winch is on my list of mods, but it is down a ways... Today I stumbled across a deal on a Mile Marker PE8000 (at Costco no less), total cost is $339 including free shipping. I'm thinking that I may have to haul Cain out of the rocks one of these days in the not so distant future. So getting a winch now would probably be a good idea.

I know an 8k winch is a little light, but is it strong enough to be useful? Anyone have any experience with this winch? Is it worth the $? Or should I just keep saving for something stronger? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

A buddy of mine runs it on his '95 YJ. That winch and 4cyl pulled my dumb ass out of a ditch when I had my Exploder. About 2 weeks later I sold it to his girlfriend's dad and bought my YJ

But in all seriousness, I feel its a good winch, and I plan on running one on my rig when I get her. I say its worth the money, and anything bigger is just a waste. If you take the weight of your Jeep and multiply it by 1.5, you should land in the range of 6000-7000lbs. An 8000lb winch is perfect for the application.

So... You're tellin' me I need to add a few tow points on the Jeep?

COOL!!! And while you're out a Cosco ordering it, could you look me a price on some decent All-Terrains? (sorry Brian... Tiny made me do it!)

YJ guy, you don't venture to NY do you? Cause I have a buddy with a 95 4banger with the PE8000 as well who pulls fords out all day! He has never had a problem with it Unlimited. Great winch, have used it myself. During bad snow storms he and I drive around and pull dumbasses out from being stuck. He winches and I am his anchor point. Made a lot of money with that winch. Has paid for itself close to 30X over, no joke.

No, this was in Andover, NJ. He's a buddy of mine from highschool, and we wheel the Hydroline trails in Sussex county, and he wheels at college at New Haven, CT. Never wheeled in NY, but I'm 5 minutes from the border of Vernon, NJ and Warwick, NY.
