Anyone running 35x12.5r15 with 4.56 gears?

Hey guys,
I know the desirable gear for 35's is 4.88. I've got 4.56 on 33's now with the I6, 5sp. Just curious if it would be a very noticeable difference if I went 35's with 4.56. If anyone is running that set up would they prefer To go back down to 33's? It's my daily driver and don't extreme off roading but she hits trails here and there. Ill be adding a 1" BL with my 4" suspension lift to give some extra clearance. Any opinions or advice is greatly apperciated.
Thanks!

I have the I6, 6sp, 5.5 LA, 1.75 BL with 4.88's on 35's. It is also my DD...32 miles round trip.

My buddy is running 4.56 gears on 35's and has no issues.

With the 4.88's at 65 mph I am at 2600rpm. I am over 3000rpm at 75mph. a little to high for my liking.

IMO I think your 4.56 gears will be better than the 4.88's. At 65mph you will only be running about 2400rpm. You can always switch them out later if you don't like it.

His is the jeep on the left
and mine is the yeller one.

My dad has 35s and 4.88 with the 5sp and it is a tractor. He cant go over 65 without getting horrible gas mileage. Luckily it is his weekend warrior so it doesnt affect him. If the jeep is going to be your DD it will probably be perfect with4.56s.

Thank you.

No he has the 4.5 LA lift 1.25 BL, I6 with the auto. I believe he also has the teralow from advance adapters......He goes just about anyplace I go....except he is not as crazy about it....yesterday we were up at Bald mtn playing...the pic....and I took this rock shelve on and crawled right over it no problem...well he followed me and couldn't make it because of the line he took...I showed him the line and poof just like that up and over.

You guys both have flat fenders. Think my clearance will be ok with rubi fenders with a 1" -1.25BL? Or would you recommend the flat fender route?

KOTA7x- awesome, thanks man. This being my DD and my toy have to be carful on what I do to her. I have having to be responsible and put the DD factor in front of the toy.

I think 4.56's are a good compromise for a DD.I ran 4.10's w/35's for several years with my 4.2 I6.When I went to 4.56 it just felt so much better off road and on the highway.I now have a 350v8 swapped in so it is almost perfect for what I do,DD/off-road combo. My son in law has 5.13's in his and is limited on how much road time he gets.It is great off-road.yjmcb

Not to hijack the thread, but

Is it yall's consensus that 4.1 is too high for 35's? I want 35's and run 32's with 4.1 now. The feel of what I'm running now suits me to a tee both on and off road. I'm about 2500rpm at 65mph, and 70 to 75 feels strained.

And if 4.1 is too high and a change is desired anyway, is it 4.88 or 4.56? Not a DD, but do want to drive 300-500 miles to wheel when I need to.

Thanks

It is not to high,as I said I ran them for years w/35's.I just think 4.56 was better. If you spend more time off-road then 4.88's may be even better.Since I drive my YJ to work almost every day 4.56's was for me a good compromise.yjmcb
