Are you guys kidding? Not attached to your Jeep? Why are you even on this forum? I would rather drive my Jeep in the rain with the top down in 30 degree weather than drive a "normal" car any day of the week. I sink endless amounts of money into it, constantly consider improvements and spend countless hours on this forum. Attached doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about it.

I got a 2011 2 door jk about two weeks ago and have already put wheels and tires on it and thinking about robbing a bank (Joke) to get more funds for more mods...My wife thinks i have lost my mind and has seen me in my garage staring at it, i try to explain the Man/Jeep relationship to her and usually get the eyeroll. I had a CJ 7 years before i was married and had the same relationship...Back then i swore i would never own a wrangler and that wranglers werent jeeps. All of this being said, yes i have lost my mind and dont miss it a bit...

I think I'd feel more attached to it if it was a stick, but I didn't like the Jeep stick when I test drove it, and most of the time, the automatic makes way more sense. Again, I'm a practical person.
Who says you can't have both?

As for being attached to my Jeep, of course! But not just my Jeep, I love all Jeep TJ's! There's just something about the TJ that's gotten under my skin over the years (I've had 5) and they all immediately feel like "home" when I climb behind the wheel. No other vehicle makes me feel that way so I'll keep daily driving them as long as I can find rust-free examples and gas remains reasonably priced.

I got my second jeep a month ago. I had a 97 Sahara and she drowned. In one month I love my new 06 unlimited. I've already dumped 800 just on stuff that I can throw together in the cold. I will dump more this summer when I can get out and play with it. I can't wait until the weather warms up and I can work on it. Why aren't I off roading the hell out of it? I just got knee surgery and I'm recovering. So looking forward to warm weather, and a knee that can bend!

Sweet TJ! And your other toys look like fun too. I've got a '92 Mazda Miata that I rarely drive, and a whole bunch of bicycles that I need to ride more.

When i sold my old tj it damn near brought a tear to my eye to see it trailered away haha. It was the only vehicle i ever missed after i sold it. Missed the mods, the wave, this forum, everything! Missed it so damn much i bought an 06 rubi after 2 years of not having a jeep and i couldnt be happier, i swear never be jeepless again!

So am i attached to my jeep? I'd actually say borderline obsessed is the more appropriate term

I love my jeep as well. When you look at your vehicle and you're proud to own it that means something. I see myself passing it on to my step daughter when she turns 16 (she's 11 now) because she loves jeeps. My suggestion for a piece of your old one would be the shift knob but I'm guessing the Laredo is an automatic.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, it's done.... I traded in the 01 Grand Cherokee yesterday and drove away with my 2012 JKUS in Flame Red. My wife kept asking me "what's wrong, why do you look like you are pissed off?"

Frankly, I was in shock from the whole deal and genuinely felt sad. I was this way for a good 30 minutes (we had about an hour ride to get home). Then, as I'm driving on the highway, I see a JK coming up behind me. He switches lanes, I look over and see him checking out the Jeep. He gives me a wave, to which I returned one and then he drove away.

Needless to say, it helped with the transition! It completely changed my mood and really made me feel like I was part of the club! I'll always love that 01 but I'm already becoming attached to the new Jeep.

Thank you fellow Jeeper, you don't know how you helped me.

*On a side note, I stole the cargo net out of the back of my old Jeep when no one was looking before we left.

** On another side note, my wife was driving her car last night and at a Wrangler going by, she then realized that she was driving a Subaru.

It is an automatic. I was thinking the same thing at first.

I'm just curious, why did you go through 5 TJ's? Are you the type that just constantly trades up or what?

Saying goodbye to my old TJ was extremely hard, but after spending some time with my new JKUR its like falling in love all over again. It helps that this one is more capable off-road, plays whatever song I tell it to and my wife likes it (She hated my TJ).
