I have been asked by a good friend of mine to help him out with his Jeep. My buddy Scott is a Marine Veteran and is lead singer in a Texas Country band, The Scooter Brown Band. This past year, he was asked to be Assistant Director of Base Camp 40. He recently purchased a Jeep and doesn't know a lot about them, but knew I had experience. The build will be for Base Camp 40, Warrior in the Wild Base Camp 40, Warrior's In The Wild - Home
BC40 is a 501 (c)(3) organization and a receipt will be given for any and all donations if needed. BC40 works with Colorado private land owners to take wounded veterans on a cow hunt every year. It's a 5 day trip and is all about honoring them throughout the entire week. BC40 also does hunts throughout the year in Texas and Alabama for smaller groups.
Earlier this year, we lost a great friend of BC 40, Navy Seal Chris Kyle. After Talking with Scott about what we can do, we both decided that a tribute to not only Chris, but ALL veterans who have served this country honorably and those that never made it home. "It is out duty to serve those who serve us" - CK
The Jeep is a 1994 Wrangler YJ. The plan is for something mild, but eye catching. We are wanting to get the word out about BC 40 to help with the cost of the hunts. Right now, the plan is for to wrap (or paint) the Jeep a flat OD green and use the black decals for logos of sponsors and few other items when we can. Color logos will also be available if requested. We would like to keep the build with parts made in the USA as much as possible. For lift, I would like to fit 35's, but don't want to go to high on the lift as we still want it fairly usable during hunts in case we have a veteran with a leg injury. So 33's or 35's will work for the goal. As for lift, Since I haven't dealt with the YJ's very much, I'm hoping that you guys can help me out with the best bang for the buck and a good quality ride. The fenders will be replace with some armor from (someone hopefully). The interior will get an upgraded treatment on the seats thanks to Kryptek Camo. The Jeep will be seen throughout the Texas and Colorado areas as well as a few other locations throughout the year. Scott and I plan on taking the rig on the trails as much as possible when we can during events such as Wheelers for the Wounded and any other Jeep events we can make it too. We already have two huge events this year tentatively scheduled for the Jeep as well as my Jeep to be on display. The first will be at Allen Unique Auto Museum the weekend before the main BC 40 hunt Allen Unique Autos | Tammy Allen
The other will be at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the weekend of the Nascar races. The Jeep will hopefully get lots of exposure for us and your company.
With all that being said, if there are any questions, Feel free to PM me and we can exchange emails and discuss things as I'm not very good with stuff like this. I hope that the Jeep community can come together to help me with this small build for a HUGE cause to help wounded veterans.
Here is a pic of how it currently sits. As you can see, it needs a little TLC to be a sweet ride!! If this is in the wrong section, Please move to appropriate section. Thanks in advance!
