AT Tires

Im looking at some AT tires for a 03 jeep i made a offer on today. Im going with a 31 inch tire and my question is this. Being the same tire make and same tire.......is there a real difference between a 31 inch LT tire .......and a 31 inch P tire?

I've looked at AT 31 / 10.5 / 15...........and the same tire in P 255 / 70 / 15 ? Sidewall strength ? I'm not hauling / pulling a trailer......I'm NOT fat...lol

LIving here in Florida ........I was just wondering the pros and cons of LT's vs P rated tires on a lite weight Wrangler.

Thanks Jeep Nation !

There is no difference the strength of the tire between a LT or a P. Sometimes tire makers will run different load ranges available for the difference between LT or P. To me its kinda of a guessing game on that, but will find more available in the 31/10.50/15 then the P225/70/15.

Thanks ! Just found it interesting most jeep owners here run LT tires over P tires ! In the towing circles, I understand the need for LT......in the jeep world, still learning !

Yeah most people use LT tires because most of the aggressive tread patterns only come in LT sizes. Especially as you go up in tire size. For an A/T you'd probably fond more sizes in the 31x10.50
