Atf in a 5spd? just look!

Im a little confused ive got a 93 wrangler with a 4 banger and a 5spd tranny i check the fluid level thismorning and to my suprise i found atf in the transmission is that correct or should it be 75/90 gear oil? my local parts store said that 92-95 used 75/90 but on the other hand the parts stores up here suck so any info on this would be great by the way its a aluminum tranny you guys probably new that

Yeah it should be gear oil not atf...Get some Redline MT-90, makes the tranny smooth as silk. Just to make sure you checked the tranny and not the transfer case right?? Becasue the transfer case does take atf.

You have a ax-5 tranny and need somthing like redline mt-90.

Some manuals use ATF, but in this case it should be 75-90 gear oil...

know what is used for power steering fluid on some Chevy Trackers? ATF
