That's the big bolt and it requires a little bit of extra torque on it. Get out the PROPER TORQUE BIT and work it. Use the biggest wrench you got to get as much leverage as possible. You may even need to put a small pipe on the end of the wrench to gain some extra torque/leverage. While turning w/ your right hand, use your left hand to push down and keep pressure on the bolt so the wrench doesn't slip off. They just take a little bit extra since that's the bolt that's responsible for keeping the seat attached to the tub during an accident. There's no majic trick, just the right combination of patience and brute force.

Will an allen wrench work to take it out? It fits in fine and i'm trying to twist it and it just wont budge...i'll keep working at it, think its just really rusted.

I had heck too. I ended up with a torx 'allen wrench' and grabbed it with my vice grips and used that for extra leverage. It will budge, just takes some torque.

Remember torque=force* distance. The higher 'distance' you have the less force is required.

NO. I put proper torque bit in caps for a reason. You may get it to work w/ an allen wrench, but you risk damaging the bolt head and having to drill it out.

If you don't have the proper tools, a heavy duty wrench and torque bit, then go buy one. The $14.99 plastic case homeowner tool kit isn't going to cut it.

Good luck!

Manual or auto?

Manual? Just push in on the plastic sides at the bottom of the boot, a flat screwdriver may be necessary to help pop it out of the console. You can leave the boot attached to the shifter and take the console out. 5 bolts if I recall, you'll need some long extensions to reach the bottom of the console. 1 in cupholder, 2 on side of console, 2 inside console.
