Battery recomendations?

The battery in my TJ finaly gave up, I've charged it back up a few times, added water etc... It's time for a new one. But I don't wanna spend a ton of cash on a new one...

I've got 4 spot lights, 2 floods in the rear bumper and a winch...
The sears platnum runs around $200. Are there cheeper options?

What specs am I looking for?

with batteries, it really is "you get what you pay for" situation, the "Optima" batteries are really good but also pricey, to be honest, I run a Duralast Gold from autozone and it has held up really well on the YJ, I have a simular set up as you do.

Any battery with a good warranty should do you right.

I'd go with the Sears. But to save a few bucks the Interstate Batteries are good choice also, come with a reputable warranty.

Except when it comes to the optima batteries since they were bought out and had all of the manufacturing sent to Mexico.

As far as cranking amps, whatever is written on your old battery should work, or you can have them look it up and they can tell you what is recommended. Most of the time I go over what is recommended and get a bigger battery. Nothing to gain from that unless I'm running something that draws some power, and even then, it's all about the alternator. Most all batteries are the same, there is very little difference if any in what they are built with and how they are assembled. so you can pretty much bet you are paying for a name or a look.

Just go to a good part store (Advance, Napa, Oreilly) and get the one with the best warranty.

I wouldn't recommend any GEL or deep cycle batteries, unless you've got either a double and/or gel."deep" cycle battery charging system and the jeeps don't come with that

The sears/Costco Kirkland (great my trailer batterys is going on 4 yrs and still GOOD/Interstate, all good

Actually, Interstate doesn't make it's own batteries, a company named johnson controls does it for them. and johnson controls is the manufacturer of Optima batteries so......

but, Interstate does claim that all but a few batteries are made in North America.
