I have just ordered my 2014 Sahara with hard top. I am looking into what soft top (bikini / safari style) would be best during days I'm taking off the hardtop. What is the easiest to install and what looks the best. I have read about this new Bestop Cable Style Safari Top but can't find anything online on how to install it. I also really like the idea of having a soft top that hooks right into the latches already in place in the Wrangler (similar to factory soft top)
I have a Hard top, Soft top (no windows, long story), Bestop Cable Style Safari Top and now a Spiderweb Shade top. The Safari top is great, but after having the Spiderwebshade I don't see myself using it as much as I thought I would. After going topless for several weeks I find the Spiderweb shade to give me enough shade without feeling like I'm enclosed.
There is a header bar, that comes with it, that lays on the header and uses 2 hand tightening bolts to secure it. The front make a good seal, and with the door surrounds, which are required but not included, the seal around the doors is good, of course it's open in the back. If you don't have the soft top door surrounds you need to buy some, either the Bestop or the Jeep ones work and you can find them on eBay. It does bellow up above the driver area, there is some minor flapping which is a bit annoying but not bad, better if the windows are cracked.
I hear ya about the rain but you need more then the Safari top you'll need a tonno cover as well, or you might think about just getting an emergency top
Yea....I'm thinking the combination of the emergency top and the spiderweb shade top would be perfect. If it rains I just throw the emergency top on and go at slow speeds. Is there anything I could be missing here?
