Anyone have a really good and cheap website to buy jeep gear??

Quadratec stands by their low price guarantee. There've been many times I've shopped 4wd hardare, etc, and other online places, then called Quadratec to have them match the price. They're very good about it and the reason I use them is because their service is excellent.

I buy what I can from 4wd.com because of the free shipping (instore pickup;))

Oh and they also price match :D

I was a big fan of Quadratec until I had a problem with a cargo area mat they sold me. I contacted them with an issue on the mat cracking and they gave me a ration of defecation about needing to come up with my original invoice - rather than offering to look up the transaction on their system.

It may be petty, but I really expected better so I can't recommend them as enthusiastically as I would have before this incident.

I've had good luck with them so far also.

:) I've bought wheels/tires from 4wheelparts.com, several times with real good results, but

JC Whitney, sells most of the same vendor mat'll and if you get on their ONLINE advertisement list, youll get discounts/freeshipping/pricebreaks/more options

I've got a LOT from them and I've had great success

I'm surprised to hear so many giving props to Quadratec, 4WP, etc . . . Yeah I like their shiney catalogs too, but IMO they are pretty much the worst to deal with. I prefer using smaller mom and pop type of places that actually care about your business, are knowledgable, offer good service, etc. Talk to David at Northridge4x4, or Brit at Mesa4x4, or Jason at 4x4GroupBuy, and you'll see a huge difference between them and the crackheads over at Quadratec that can't seem to figure out how to ship the part that you actaually ordered or the 4WP guys that just want to sell you their ProCrap products, cuz chances are they don't know a damn thing about your Jeep as their real focus is putting uberlifts on big ass trucks to make them worthy of hanging a nutsack from the trailer hitch.

Best ???

The best web site to buy at is the one that not only has the lowest price including tax and shipping but a site you can, hopefully, trust. Go through the catalogs and find the exact part you're looking for then do reviews and search's for lowest price.

After you decide on a place to buy, do a search for sale codes or coupon codes. For instance, Morris 4x4 has free shipping after $1000 purchase but a promotional code of: SHIN, will get you another 10% off. Point is, don't just go by one place, let your fingers do the walking. :punk:

I'd love to have a good local shop I can trust, but I haven't found that around here. I guess you can find someone who will love or hate just about anywhere. I agree with searching for the part, getting the part number and then shopping around. It is a good idea to consider the level of customer service you expect to need, as well as the price to get the the part(s) to your door. As I live in PA, Quadratec charges tax, and they will rip you off on the cost of shipping. I called about the quoted shipping cost, explaining to the CSR that UPS published rates for ground service was less than half what they were quoting and he had the audacity to tell me that the costs quoted were the actual shipping costs. I expect they get a nice discount off published rates too, so they were probably inflating their costs by 300%. The CSR was a real dick about it too, so I told him I'd never spend another dime with them, and haven't since. Everything they sell can be purchased from another online vendor for the same price or less and you can almost always avoid tax and get free shipping, so why anyone would spend money with them is beyond me. I've never had a problem with Whitneys or 4x4parts, yet, and a simple google search will give you not only a host of vendors, but reviews of their performance with customer service.

Just a simple question for NVRDLMO, what is so bad about about Whitneys for you? and if they're so bad, why are you dealing withy them for 30 years? Once a vendor treats me badly, I simply stop patronizing them.

 Heh Heh, ya I wonder what kind of trouble he had with old JC Whitney, I sure haven't

I built his 1976 Dodge Ramcharger (on 1978 GMC chassis) and used JC Whitney for the entire interior and soft top and lift blocks

Didn't have an internet then, so I did it by phone/catalogue-dash/soft top/carpets/seats/doorpanels/pinion shims/blocks/U-bolts, the whole shebang-PERFECT and that was 24 yrs ago (did it 1985)

I've had great customer service/quality/on cars and many other 4wd's and very good shipping price/deals !!

NVRDLMO, I didn't mean to be snarky in my question, I was genuinely curious about what issues you had with Whitney. I know in the old days with the crappy paper catalog with drawings, it was sometimes a crapshoot about selecting a part. It would look good in the drawing, but be of low quality when it arrived. Now, with the internet, and real pictures, you can largely avoid that, plus there are so many reviews of products and services, you can get an idea about what you're getting, and if you don't like it, just return it. I've never geard of Morris 4x4, but thanks to your post, I will check them out, just as I'll check out other vendors who pop up.

However, like I said, once a vendor intentionally tries to screw me, like Quadratec, they'll never get another dime of my business, and I won't be shy about sharing the story. I was once a good customer of theirs, but as they seem to not really care about integrity and retaining customers, my dollars now go elsewhere. As I had noted, just about everything they sell can be purchased from another vendor for less money. I agree about letting your fingers do the walking, although it's more like let google find your answers now.

Love Quadratec's catalog and selection of parts.....But as Yosemite Sam would say, "I hates me the shipping costs!". I wanted to order a part that listed for <$100 USD, but decided against it because the shipping alone was going to be $25!!! And it's not like I live oversea's or anything -- I'm in Indiana!!!

I do like so many others here....Search around and find the best price. I'm most loyal to whoever is giving me the best deal on the parts I want today. It changes constantly.

Pretty old thread but's on the topic I'm looking for:

I'm looking to replace my softtop and have all but decided on the Best Sailcloth Replacement Top. 2001 TJ with no doors and tinted windows. I've located the item on a few sites BUT Morris 4x4 Center is BY FAR AND AWAY less expensive, and free shipping. So much so, it raises questions to the legitimacy and quality of the product I would receive. It is the identical item # to what I see in Quadratec & JC Whitney for almost a 30% discount.

Does anyone have feedback on Morris 4x4 Center they could provide? Service, Quality, etc. Any provided is greatly appreciated!

I've purchased several Bestop items from Morris 4x4 in the past six months. (Rear window set, Seat Covers, Slider upper doors) All of them have been top notch, packed well, shipped quickly, and the service has been excellent.

They've become the first place I look to when I need gear.
