It was right at 100 bucks. It took me two days to get it all done. The hardest part was just prepping. Well worth it though.

ya I want to do that so bad I just need a shop or a garage so that I don't have to stand outside in the weather while I'm doing it, and just in case it rains... did you do a write-up on that?

You know those ecode housing are illegal right?

it is illegal, like it or not you are breaking the law. maybe you won't get caught but there is always a chance. Good luck to you on that not getting caught thing, word is that the cops are going to be cracking down on headlight laws here soon, so just remember don't be pissed at them when you get the fine.

All the ham operators should be here soon to warn you the same thing, unless they are all just hypocrites.

I do like the light they put out though and have been thinking of getting some myself.

I did not know that E-code housings were illegal. the ones I have are the IPF's... are those E-code? I havn't heard that they are illegal around my part of the woods and as far as my local laws go. I wouldn't ticket for that nor check if something is E-code, most likely a warning or a fix-it-ticket if I found out it was illegal. Blue headlights on the other hand...

BTW...nice quote looks fimiliar

LMAO...just having fun...and yes. Unless they have the D.O.T. stamp on the headlight housing they are illegal.
Which almost every Ecode does not have, including the IPF's.

My how your zealously towards law breakers changes when its you breaking some trivial little law. With double standards like that you are either a ham operator or should become one

Back on topic though.
My favorite low dollar mod would be home made seat risers.

Hey HubDeep, on that hilift mount, how are those bolted to the fenderwell? Are there nuts on the bottom or is it just sheetmetal screws? I got my jack a month or so ago and don't have a spot to mount it.

they burned out already... I only bought them in november of last year. I really like them but I think I need a different color too. I just wished that they lasted longer.

Stainless bolts/nuts. I strapped my spare axle shafts to the underside of the hi-lift to keep everything out of the way of the drawer.

Not hard just a lot of cutting. Several pieces from under the fenderwells and to be cut away, and the hole for the taillights had to be enlarged greatly. Sadly there is no link.

I noticed that on a friend of mine's H1 the taillights were exactly the same as on my jeep, only his were recessed. So,I called the Hummer dealer and ordered the taillight 'buckets' and the rivets and had few beers and started cutting. The stock YJ taillights fit right in the buckets, (oddly enough). Just a ittle trimming inside the bucket for the wiring harness to fit through.

The only issue is that because of the gas filler on the YJ, the tailights will not be perfectly even or across from one another. You can't tell unless you look straight on from the back, and even then you'll only notice it because I told you....

Here's some of the better pics:
