Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-top problems...

Installed it today on a 97, everything lined up as it should, except on the header. Now I've got a 1-2 inch sag in the top right above the passenger and driver seats. It fit fine right in front of the doors, but the seam arcs up from both sides away from the top of the windshield. After pretty much removing it and starting over, same result.

It looks like there is just too much fabric in the space between the header screws and the front seam.

Of course, nobody at Bestop on Saturday, I emailed them and hopefully will hear back Monday.

Just started raining here a few minutes ago, and I'll have 1-2 inches of water sloshing around over my head shortly, (Maybe I should go get a goldfish!)

Will it maybe tighten up a little when it cools off tonight?

Anybody have any ideas on what might be the trubba?

PS-I went by the instructions and even watched the Youtube vids...stumped.

It rolls under... iirc. I'm thinking that the seam should be inside.

Yeah, it should kinda be tucked under the bar, like it is in the corners.

According to the instructions and the vid, the seam should run right along the front of the header bar, problem is, that with the screws in place, the fabric bunches up pretty bad, then stretches out to what's in the pic when I pull the frame forward to lock it down.

No way to tighten it up more without punching new holes in the fabric away from the backer strip...

In other words, I can tuck the seam under the bar, but it just pops back out as soon as the Jeep moves, or it rains. No way to hold it in place.

PS, Rained again, when it gets water in it, it sags down like three to four inches, if anybody wants to go swimming tommorrow, admission will be one six pack.
