One thing about how they seal...when you're going down the road at 55+ MPH, the tops of the doors will pull away/suck out. I helped that out by getting a little bungee cord (14" diameter X roughly 8" long) and put it around the part of the roll bar that runs from the B pillar to the A pillar, then put both zipper handles for the doors at the top of the window, and hook the cord to the zippers. Definitely helps to keep the door from flying outward. It's not a 100% fix, but it certainly helps!

I'll still try to compare the two fabrics (door to Viking) when I get home.

Ditto. Good info Steelman. Let me know on the Viking top. Mine is beyond the point of worrying too much about matching but it's still nice to know. Surely the Black Diamond will match well. I hope!

Now if I can just figure out how to get mine up to 55 mph to test it.

Hey Scout,

I didn't get home until late last night (my some had baseball practice, etc.) so no pic. I did take a look though. As dirty as the doors are and as clean as the new (to me) top is, it was hard to really judge how closely they may match. I believe it's pretty damn close though. You'll have to let us know how the black diamond matches I guess! I'm not familiar with that particular fabric. Good luck!!

As for going 55+? I've found that if you can find a downhill grade longer than a mile, it's actually possible!

Thanks! Damn close is good enough for me. I'm really not too picky when it comes to stuff like that.

Downhill? In West Texas there are NO hills! I'll have to find a long over pass or something.

Thanks for checking on that for me. I'll report back when they come in.

fyi... black diamond is what matches later model tj factory softtops like my 04 tj

But the local dealer was out of black diamond so I went with the two piece besttop doors in the regular black denim. Its still "nearly" a perfect match... good enough for me anyway.

That's good to know Ben. I found a place online that had the Black Denim in stock and the Black Diamond was back ordered. I figured I could wait for the Diamond but it's good to know if the Diamond takes too long then the Denim will match also.

I've talked to Jack for the past couple of days and I'm leaning in a new direction so that I can jump to 35's. He schooled me on some junk and everything on my list kinda switched places. I'm looking for an axle housing now.

I have been wanting a pair, because the rain this year has really got me down - if I have my doors and windows, it won't rain, if I don't, it will. They sure are proud of them though! I wish I could just buy the bottom half, and put my uppers on them!

Hey Scout!!!! They leak. From the center. Where the velcro is the water channels down to about the center under the window where it drips inside. Doesn't bother me much, but it doesn't rain here that often and it wasn't raining all that hard.

How bad is it? In a heavy rain would you get wet?

In a heavy rain, I'd say the rug will get wet. It's not that bad, but it's not raining all that hard. Tomorrow is supposed to be really wet so if I don't decide to put the hard doors back on I'll let you know. These doors are cold Still, loved 'em wheeling the other day.

Sounds good tiny and thanks for the update. Mine should be here tomorrow.

I hope they work well as I may just leave them on during winter.

If it comes in tomorrow I think that would be 8 days. I just wonder if they drop ship the doors from BesTop and BesTop is closer to California than Texas. If they shipped from Illinois then they should get to Texas first. At least I think it should.

Nope....Qtec has someone monitoring the forum......Your name is on the "backordered" and slow-boat-to-China list.

One of the things I figured out was that you want the doors a touch high when you adjust them. Then, when you fit the tops, bend them in a little bit. That makes the sealing strip fit inside the jamb and them pulling the door closed makes that fit nice and tight.

I'm having a problem with one of my handles that I'm getting ready to call BT about unless my buddy can take care of it or direct me elsewhere. It's not bad, it just irritates me.
