see what happened was the seller has hacked into ebay motors and he put the address of ebay motors as his address so when my buddy sent the money to "ebay motors" he actually sent it to the seller. hard to explain but ebay motors has absolutely NO reference or files. all they have is that he won the four wheeler. everything else is deleted. this absolutely sucks! that is a ton of money! what a jerk.
please do not call my friend an idiot for some reason. i thought it was pretty smart to send the money to ebay motors instead of straight to the seller and how in the world was he supposed to know the guy hacked in.
He should definitely press the issue with ebay. If ebay was truly hacked, which I doubt it was, they would be responsible. More than likely this jerk just did some creative editing and sent him an email posing as ebay. He should check the email he received that listed the payment address. Forward it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Your best rule of thumb with ebay is to only use auctions that use paypal. Paypal has certain guarantees that limit a buyers risk.
