if your trying to protect from the sun only, and its larger than your average towel..i dont see why it wouldnt "work" but again it will only aid in sun protection and make sure you have some sturdy clamping points or bye bye towel lol

LoL turned out not too bad, Im sure the towel will start to rip after some time, I did go on the freeway for a short stint and it wasnt too flappy. where punched a hole thru for the bungees I folded the towel so there was 3 or 4 layers to help with the ripping.

funny thing is right after I finished I noticed I had some sun screen material in the garage. Time to make a better one lol. One nice thing is that the hardware
for the soft top helps keep it down

Pet screen is pretty much the same as the SpiderWeb. It lets sun in, but is markedly cooler than no top... If you want finer mesh, search the web, there are others out there... Or if you want solid cover, do vinyl, but it's harder to sew, since it sticks to the machine. If you used tape I guess that wouldn't be an issue... Or, contact cement would work too probably. Use a good roller and plenty of pressure to press down the hems. Keep in mind if you make it based on the SpiderWeb design, you will have some gaps where sun/water will get through at the windshield and on the sides.
