Blower Motor Advice Please

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum so hello to all. I hope to discuss and learn quite a bit from everyone here. I came here though first because I had a question to other jeep owners that may have come across a similar issue.

The other day my blower motor died. Typically if it was in the summer this would have been no problem but it is currently 0-20 degrees in NH so I wanted to fix it. I went to AutoZone and picked up a new Blower Motor. I had already went through the other parts and verified that the fuses and heater core was all set so it was simply just the blower motor.

AutoZone had the blower motor for $90, other places had them as well but for $150 or more. I didn't figure this would be much of a deal but when turning on the heat after the install I noticed that this motor is super loud. At first I thought it may be a bad bearing. I am not sure if that is it though. I do know the blower is a VDO brand and after researching I have heard similar bad reviews on this product. So basically my question is, will this blower motor wear in and quiet down, or should I look at spending more money for a better blower? If so what brands are good.

Thank you all for your help.
