Brake Master Cylinder question...
inside of the master cylinder housing where the fluid goes, the larger of the two chambers is empty. Is this how it is supposed to be?

No.... Put brake fluid in it and bleed you brake lines.

And check your pads for wear or your brake lines for leaks, that fluid went somewhere.
