Bumper Spacers

I'm sure there is already a thread related to this but I couldn't seem to find it. I was considering getting a 2" body lift for my 06' TJ, but I dont really like the look of the body being so far away from the bumpers.

I won't actually have the jeep until Thursday and I cannot seem to find a picture of how the stock bumpers are mounted anywhere. But is it possible to buy a kit or possibly even machine some spacers that would lift the bumper? I tried to find pictures of the stock bumper, but I can't tell if they are bolted on from the front or the top.

So is there somewhere I could buy a kit for this or a thread that can help me out?

thanks

DON"T get a 2" BL!!!! No bigger than 1.25" they don't look good at all!!!!! Go with a 2" BB if you want an inexpensive lift, and you can add a 1.25" BL and clear 33's and you will love it. Just my opinion though and you will probably get slapped on here for wanting a 2"BL so get ready it;s coming.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. It looks bad with the big gap between the body and the bumpers.. That's why I was asking if there was a way to bring up the bumpers too.. If not then I'm not wasting my money on a BL.

Rough Country? are you kidding? Gawww. man I can't believe you. bad decision after bad decision.

I'm sorry, I'm completely kidding. I really am a bit off. You'll be glad you avoided the massive BL.

Lots of people have them, and they get decent reviews. I'm plotting my lift, and it looks like I'm gonna go with an OME 2'' lift...my jeep rarely sees anything more exciting than a residential alley. (there's no legal wheeling within a few hours drive of me)

anywho, many people like their RC lifts, some say they are a bit rough riding. But in reality all Jeeps are a bit rough riding to some (depends what you compare it to).

What's your caliber of choice?

yea I havent seen anything negative really except for being a little rough. but I had high performance nitto tires on my mustang, so im used to feeling every little bump lol.

I'm in the same boat though, there are a few places around here to find some mud, but to really get into something fun I would have to talk to some of my dads friends out where we used to live.

And personally i shoot .40 cal. I love my Glock 22, what about you?

Currently both of my Glocks are 9mm. I run the +p+ hollow points, but generally practice with the cheapo Blazer (or equivalent).

Have been considering a change over to 357 sig. but not too sure. I have an awful lot of 9mm plinking ammo, so I'll likely stick with it. I love my Glocks as well. I definitely won't be getting rid of the brand even if I switch calibers.

I have a 19C, and a 26 - 26 is my carry gun of choice, but if its hot out I generally carry my smith ultralight .38 - now that gun with the hottest ammo available freaking hurts when you shoot it, but I figure I'll get the hottest available to hopefully ensure any attacks are stopped immediately.

I'm wanting to get a lockbox for the Jeep. when I DD'd my 350z I kept a Taurus Judge in one of the storage compartments right by my side, but in the jeep there is no secure location, so it's gun free unless I"m in it.

My other car is the same way, nowhere to hide a firearm that I'd consider secure. frustrating at times.

yea, I'm actually too young to own a handgun because you have to be 21 in the great state of Iowa to even buy one. I'm 19 so I had to give my dad the money and have him buy my 22 lol. But I'm planning on going into law enforcement so its very useful to start practicing with it now, and since I can only really shoot it at the range I always use cheapo blazer anyways ha. And one of my friends dad is the head of one of the swat teams out here, and he lets us go out at shoot and run through some drills with the entire swat team, its alot of fun.

You have a 350z too? to be honest, I had to decide between the Jeep and the 350, cause I have always dreamed of owning one lol

I sold my 350z to buy my Lotus( there's a
pic of the lotus on my jeep profile). The 350 was a great car, nicely put together, no real complaints. Also have a z4- liked the 350z more.

I bet some swat practice would be fun. Sounds like you definitely have an "in" at the local PD. Stay out of trouble and you'll be golden.
